Glory Art Rewind 2018 - August - Plans

I have got behind with the Scripture Challenges that Patter Cross hosts on her blog which you can find HERE and I do hope to catch up on two that I have missed being "anchor" and "strength".

For this August challenge of "Plans", I chose to work with the first scripture that Patter shared being Psalm 31:15 . When I read it in The Voice  version of the Bible it really spoke to me that it is not our days we are to give to the Lord it is our "moments".
The song I have shared by Chuck Girard is the song played as I walked down the aisle on 12th September 1992. I will share a youtube so you can all listen to the song.

Here is my artwork using an old digital kit called "Sweet Endings" by the designers at Digiridoo which is a store that closed some years ago.

Glory Art Rewind 2018 - #4 - Religion

Please visit the blog of  Patter Cross HERE as she is the one who hosts this challenge and shares some very encouraging and inspiring teaching each month.

Each month this year I am trying to find a scriptural song to go with the theme/word that Patter shares and I so enjoyed discovering the song "Rescuer" which I have used on my little pieces of digital artwork this month. I will share a link to the song:

Glory Art Rewind 2018 #2 - Compasion

This challenge is hosted by Patter Cross and she shares some great teaching so if you have not already done so please visit her blog HERE

The timing for Patter's teaching was perfect for this as my husband and I have recently changes where we worship on Sunday. We realised we were just "warming seats" on Sundays and now we are worshipping with people who are on fire for  reaching out to the lost in love and compassion.

Here is my artwork for the challenge:

Glory Art Rewind 2018 - #1-Example

This year Patter has decided to revisit some of her challenges from past years and share again those thoughts and add more teaching to them.
For the first for this year she chose the word "Example" and you can read her teaching HERE

This year for my art I going to do some hybrid ATCs - front and backs and display them on the stand I bought and used for the very first Scripture Challenges I took part in with Patter back in 2008 - wow!  that is 10 years ago. Where has that time gone?

On this first ones I used my rubber stamps just lightly using Versamark stamp pad. I like to dig out my old stamps and make use of them.
The song I found to share on the back of the ATC is one I had not heard of before and I really like the words. I will share a link to the Youtube video and if I can I will also share the words.

Here is photographs of my ATCs for this first challenge of the year:
For my digital art I used a paper by Kim Jensen and splatters by Tangie Baxter.

"Jesus To The World"

A little girl who is hungry
Prays for something she can eat
A single mom doing all she can
Finds herself out on the street
Will we see their need and hear their cries
Look at our watch and just walk on by
Or will we stop and take the time
To be Jesus in their lives

[Chorus:]
We need to be lambs that roar
We need to be eagles that soar
We need to be salt
We need to be light
We need to be Jesus to the world
We need to take love into the streets
Be willing to turn the other cheek
We need to be strong
We need to be weak
We need to be Jesus
Jesus to the world

Jesus came with a message
That would change the way we live
He showed us all by example
What the heart of heaven is
He saw our need and He heard our cry
He loved us so much that He gave His life
He taught us by his sacrifice
How we should live our lives

[repeat chorus]

We need to be Jesus
Jesus to the world

Glory Art Scripture Challenge 2017 #10 - Relationship

Please visit Patter's Blog HERE  so you can read her teaching on the theme she chose for this challenge.

When I went to Gateway website I discovered the verse I have used on my digital art and wanted to use it as I felt I needed to think about my relationships with those whom I come in contact with.
Jesus set us the example of how we are to relate to others. Do I really practise the "mindset of Jesus"? my honest answer is NO.  So often I get caught up in the trap of "gossip".

How can I have the mindset of Jesus that I so badly need? The only way I can is to get to know Him better and to do that I need to grow closer to Him in reading and meditating on His word.

For my digital art I used a kit called Connect by Dawn Inskip and the Stick figures from from a set of Stick People by Dawn Inskip with a style by Sahin Designs added to it.

Glory Art Challenge #8 - Put on Love

Please visit Patter's blog HERE so that you can read the words of wisdom she has shared and also to see her lovely artwork.

Maybe one day I will go back to doing paper art again for these challenges but life has got a little too busy for me at times these days. I do enjoy doing digital art as it is quick and easy... no messy paint where you do not want it or glue blobs where they are not supposed to be and you can alter colours to suit what you want to create.

Here is my CD case size artwork:

Glory Art Challenge #7 - Story

Please visit Patter Cross's blog HERE to read her teaching based on her challenge for this month.

I found a great scripture to use from The Voice bible.  This verse tells me that I need to be more prepared to share the Good News with others. There are times I feel I do not live a life that shows the good news of Jesus.  I need to  be more saturated in His Word so I can be better prepared to share the best Story ever told.

All digital scrapbooking products I used are by Patty B Scraps.

Glory Art Challenge #6 - Encourage

This was last month's challenge hosted by Patter Cross and you can find her teaching and artwork on her blog HERE

I forgot to share this last month and did not realise until I came here today to share the July Challenge.

Glory Art 2017 #5 - Attributes of God

Each month I take part in the Glory Art challenge hosted by Patter Cross on her blog which you can find the current one  HERE   and I do encourage you to visit Patter's blog so you can read the teaching she has shared.

I chose God's attribute of "mercy" for scripture and my chosen scripture comes from the International Children's Bible which lately I am finding has such great wording. I decided to order this version of the Bible which arrived last week and I am so pleased I did as I now know what I will buy for my 8 year old granddaughter for Christmas as it is a lovely Bible. It has some illustrated pages which is lovely artwork and as I already have discovered the wording is easy to understand.

Here is my digital artwork for this month:

Glory Art 2017 #4 - Perseverance - Hosted by Patter Cross

For this month the word Patter has used is "Perseverance". You can read her very encouraging teaching  HERE

I went to Bible Gateway website to help me decide on what scripture to  use on my digital artwork. I typed in the word "persevere" and one verse that stood out to me was Revelation 2:3 and when I then checked to see what the verses surrounded that verse I felt the Lord was telling me something... even though I have been triumphant over the difficulties I have been facing I have to a degree lost my first love.
The difficulties I have been going through are that on 31st March my dear husband had a massive heart attack on the morning of the day our town became cut off by floods. The Ambulance being a 4wheel drive got through the water already coming over on the the ways into our town so Ken got to hospital where that afternoon he had a procedure performed to put a stent in his heart. With the flooding I was not able to get to visit Ken from the Friday morning until the following Tuesday. Thankfully no flood waters came into our yard at all.
Ken spent a week in hospital and while there contracted a chest infection which hampered his recovery so it has been slow but now the coughing has stopped he is getting better more each day. But life has changed some in that he now needs to take medications which neither of us had to date needed to take. The medications are ones that he will need to take for the rest of his life. We are also now looking at how we can improve our diet to help him keep his heart healthier.

I praise the Lord for the answered prayers as there were people all over the world praying for Ken.
Now I need to stop just going through the motions of living... I need to get back the real Joy that I know I should have because of all the Jesus has done for me.

Glory Art 2017 #3 - Daily

Each month Patter Cross shares a word and teaching based around that word. She shares very encouraging  teaching and lovely artwork based on the scriptures she shares.
For this month the word is  "Daily" and you can read Patters blog  HERE

When I searched for what scripture I wanted to use on my digital artwork, I found in the International Childrens Bible the verse I have used.
Day by Day our Saviour helps us.  Day by day He provides our daily needs. Day by day he asks us to take up our cross and follow Him.  We do not have to be concerned about tomorrow... only just this day.

Just now the song from the musical, Godspell came to mind and it is a song that I often in my mind sing the lines:

Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Day by Day

In case you are not familiar with the song here is a Youtube of the song:

Glory Art 2017 #2 - Jesus

For this month Patter chose for us to centre our thoughts on JESUS and who He is to us, personally. Once I started to read Patter's teaching ( which you can find HERE ) two scripture songs came to my mind. One of these songs - You are My All in All, I used on my digital page and the other is  a fairly new song to me that I really enjoy and used on a challenge page last month at The Lily Pad when we were to create a page about a favourite song.
I will share that page first and then my one for this month's Glory Art.
Patter each month shares prompts for journaling and this month's is something I might share  later in the month or early next month as she asks the question  " When did you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? "

I have linked this image to my gallery over at The Lily Pad.
Now,  I will share a link to the song in case anyone visiting my blog would like to listen to it:

Here is my little page for this month which I will display in a CD case in my home:

Glory Art 2017 #1 - The Bible

Please visit Patter Cross's blog HERE  for her teaching on this her first Scripture Challenge for this year.

Patter chose to start the year with us looking at  "The Bible". What  a great subject to make us think about. God's word is so vital to our relationship with Him. It is the way we can grow closer to Him and grow in our faith.

Here is digital art for this Scripture Challenge. It is once again a small piece of art I will display in a CD case used as a frame.

Digital products I used were the book, watercolor background paper and lily are all by Designs by Helly ( who is now a retired designer and no longer selling her designs); patterned papers and flower from a kit called Home Cooking by Connie Prince; fonts - Lobster for title and Kokila for the Bible Verse.

Glory Art Challenge #12 - Good (hosted by Patter Cross)

If you have not visited Patters blog please do so HERE so you can read the devotional thoughts she shared for this last challenge of the year.

I have missed quite a few months this year but hopefully next year I will be diligent to take part.
My page is totally a digital page. I felt lead to share the verse that I have and I like the wording I have used which is from the International Childrens Bible.

I hope those who visit this blog have a very safe and happy Christmas.

November Bible Study at Let Me Be a Blessing

This month I have started to host a Bible Study at the forum - Let Me Be A Blessing which you can find HERE and anyone who visits my blog are welcome to join as it is a place to share your Christian faith. There are  some Digital Scrapbookers involved in the site but anyone is welcome as it is not a scrapbooking forum.

The Bible Study is based on the scriptures used for the We Believe Blog Train which is something I have been involved with for some years. It is a group of Christian designers who create kits for giving away. It is a form of ministry in that is provides those who visit the blogs the opportunity to have bible based digital items for their memory pages.   You can find my blog for this HERE

I have created a digital page using items from the digital kit I designed and based on the Bible Study of  1 Thessalonians 5:16-22
