Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #26 - REPRESENT

This is the last Scripture Challenge for this year. Patter gave us the word "Represent" to use. Her devotional thoughts centred around the fact that as Christians we are Jesus representatives here on earth and we should show Jesus to all those we come in contact with by the way we live.

When I looked on Bible Gateway I came up with the scripture I have used. This is a scripture which states that Jesus is God the Father's representative. He came to this world as a helpless baby and grew to be the Lamb that was slain for our sins. My page, I hope shows both those truths about Jesus - His humble birth and His sacrificial death.

Credits for my digital page: Background paper is by Jenn Gigowski, overlay by Rowena Field, light burst by Laitha Designs.

Next year I plan on continuing to follow Patter in the Scripture Challenges she sets. I enjoy her devotional thoughts and enjoy creating art to illustrate God's word.

May whoever reads this have a safe and Holy Christmas.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #25 - WORTH

Patter gave us the word "Worth" to work with and I chose this verse which has this word and tells of our worth to God. To get the full picture of our worth you need to read some of the verses preceding this one - from Matthew 10:28-31. These verses speak of how God watches over the sparrows.

The digital products I used for my page come from a kit called White Christmas by the designers at Go Digital Scrapbooking. The fonts I used are Showcard Gothic and Palace Script. The photo I found of the web somewhere.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #24 - HELP

For this fortnight Patter has given us the word "Help" for our artwork. When I searched Bible Gateway ( a great website for finding scriptures ) I came across this verse from the Psalms and felt it was one I needed to share and also to take hold of for myself. God is my help - He is my shield and He will protect me. So I do need to put my hope in Him.
Please, anyone reading this make the verse personal to yourself also.

For my digital artwork I have used a kit called "Friendship Needs No Words" by the designers at Nuts 4 Digi.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #23 - ASSURANCE

For this fortnight Patter gave us the word "Assurance" for our art and also have us a very thought provoking devotional thoughts.

Once I read the word that Patter had chosen, the old hymn by Fanny Cosgrove - Blessed Assurance came to my mind so I have shared the first verse on my artwork.

The digital kit I used for my art is called Midnight Magic by Digi Illusions.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - # 22- SERVE

This fortnight Patter has given us the word "Serve" for our Scripture art. I decided to use these words of Jesus as they are so important to us in this time in history where many people are so caught up in wanting more and more money, thinking that money can buy them happiness.

Years ago I read a Christian teaching book which I think was called " The Richest Woman in Town". It brought to light the truth that knowing Jesus as Lord and Saviour does make you the richest woman in town. He is all you need. No amount of money can buy the joy and peace that only Jesus can give.

For my digital art I used a kit called "Noah's Ark" by the designers at Faith Sisters with the stitching being by Jan Hicks.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - # 21 - FIRST

This fortnight's Scripture Challenge with Patter is the word "First". Once I read the word, immediately the song I have sung in Church - " Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God...." came to my mind.
I ask myself - do I seek His kingdom first? To be truthful, I do not always do so.

The digital kit I used for my page is called Commotion by Angie Briggs. I felt the numbers went well with the word FIRST. We are not to concern ourselves with all those other things of this world - only concern our selves with the ONE who should be always put FIRST.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - # 20 - Content

This fortnight Patter has given us the word "Content" to use on our artwork.
Patter had used this scripture on her artwork but I just could not go past using it myself.
It is not an easy scripture to be consistent in our lives with. The love of money is not the difficult part - it is the being content with what we have.
So often we look at something in a shop and say " I need that" when in reality we should say " I want that".

The last part of the scripture is a wonderful promise to take hold on. It is so comforting to know that our Lord God will never leave us. We may walk away from Him but he will never leave us.

This time for my digital artwork I used a kit which is called "Tranquility" by Digi Illusions ( it is available from Nuts 4 Digi ).
I felt the name of this kit really suited the word "content".

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - # 19 PRIORITY

This fortnight Patter has given us the word "Priority" for our scripture artwork. The word "priority" is not found in any version of the Bible so I chose a scripture that tells us what our PRIORITY in life should be. I know that I fail at carrying out this and put other things before God a lot of the time. The Bible tells us that whatever or whoever comes before God in our lives is who/what we worship - an idol. I am determined to put aside the "idols" in my life and worship the true living God. I will strive to put God first - seek first His Kingdom.

For my digital art this time I have used a kit called "Remembrance of Time Past" by Nutkin Tailz Designs. I chose to use this kit because of the fact I need to remember to put God first.
The sprayed alpha was created using an action by Atomic Cupcake.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - # 18 Compassion

This fortnight Patter has given us the word "Compassion" for our artwork. I chose to use two scriptures sharing that God is full of Compassion and therefore as the second scripture says we should be compassionate.

For my digital art I used the stars and patterned papers from a kit called "Beautiful May" by Caroline B. ; the recoloured Silver Braid by Just Passin Thru; bead flower by S. Tierney.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - # 17 Prayer

For this fortnight Patter has given us the word "Prayer" for our artwork. When I went looking for a scripture to use I found this lovely one which has a song based on it which I will share a website below where you can read the words and click on the link to listen to the song being sung.

Prayer is an area of my walk with the Lord where I know I fail him miserably. I do not know why I do not discipline myself more and set aside proper prayer time. Patter's devotional thoughts have been good timing for me to search myself and ask myself.... why??? why don't I take time to pray. I know I am constantly talking to the Lord during the day but do not go aside for a proper quiet time. If Jesus did it I should also.

For my digital artwork I used a kit called Prayer and Praise by Thao Cosgrove and the scallop edge is a template by Ursula Schneider.

Here is the website with the song:
Let My Prayer Come Like Incense

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - # 16 - WORSHIP

What a surprise I received when I read the word that Patter gave us for this fortnight's Scripture Challenge because on Sunday I lead a short song segment in Church and my theme was "Worship". The scripture I have used on my art was what the first song we sang was based on. The blended photo on my page is the Church where my husband and I are becoming very much a part of. I have included hearts on my page because our worship should come from our heart... our very inner being. As I said in Church on Sunday we gather together in Church to worship our God. He desires our worship and deserves our worship for who He is and all He has done for each one of us.

Credits for my digital art: a little kit called Shabby Romance by Caroline B. The worshippers is clipart I found on the web somewhere.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #15 Fear Not

This fortnight Patter has given us the words "Fear Not" for our Scripture Challenge. Whenever I hear those words I remember a song the children sang at Sunday School years ago when I was teaching. It was a song for one of their Anniversary programs they would perform. If I remember correctly it was the boys ( these were young boys as I never taught any classes over 9 years) and they would really yell out the words "FEAR NOT".
Maybe I should put those words into action instead of the fears I have been having lately about my elderly mother.

The digital kit I used to create my page is called "Lift" by Just Passin Thru.

I looked on the web and found this Youtube to share with whoever stops by at my blog:

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross -#14 - FORGIVE

For this fortnights Scripture Challenge, Patter gave us the word "Forgive". Her devotional thoughts were about both God's forgiveness of us through the price the Jesus paid for us on the cross and our need to forgive others. So I chose a Bible verse which sort of covered both those thoughts.

For my digital art I used a kit called "Adoration" by Lilley Scrap Designs which I purchased from a store called Digiridoo Scraps. The fonts I used were Soul Mission for the word forgive and the scripture is Pristina.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross -#13 - FATHER

This fortnight Patter has given us the word "Father" to use for our choice of scripture on our art. The scripture I chose makes me think about the privilege it is to be a daughter of the Lord Almighty and at the same time a responsibility to be the best daughter I can be.

For my digital art I have used items from a kit called "Up at the Villa" by Erica Hite. I chose this kit because it had the word art "Father" so that was my starting point. The font I used is called "Sinbad".

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross -#12 - GROW

This fortnight Patter challenged us in her devotion to look at ourselves and see if we are growing in our faith. Sometimes I feel I am and other times I feel like I am slipping backwards or stagnating. I know how to remedy this..... get stuck into more reading and studying of God's Word.

I used my page this time for a Font Challenge on my favourite digital scrapbooking forum - Nuts 4 Digi. The font we were given in the challenge is Impact Label which looks like dymo tape.

The digital kit I used for my page is French Market by Syndee Nuckles.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross -#11 - Purpose

For this fortnight Patter gave us the word "Purpose".
Our purpose is to glorify God and I chose this verse because of the great commission the Lord gave us to go out into the world and make disciples. We are to sew seeds wherever we go. We may never see the result of the seed we sew but we are to still sew it - that is share God's word - be a witness for Jesus in all that we do and say.

For my digital page I used the following:
Seedling to Tree sticker by Faith True; Alpha by Paula Wright and all the other - papers, watering can, water drops come from a kit called Happy Garden by Vera Lim.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #10 - EXAMPLE

This fortnight Patter gave us the word " Example" to work with.

I chose this verse as this is something I need to be more aware of. I need to be aware of the example I set with how I react and deal with the happenings in my life.

For my art I decided to do something I little different. Once I found the crossword background paper I knew was what I wanted to use.

The paper, button and stitching all come from a digital kit called Just BU by Angie Briggs.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #9 - QUIET

For this fortnight Patter gave us the word "Quiet" to use. Her devotion was about taking time away from the busyness of life and be alone with God.
When I picture that I think of lovely peaceful green rolling hills which is why I chose the digital kit for my artwork as it had this perfect piece of background paper.
I know that I fail miserably with taking time out and spending time alone in prayer. This was good timing for me to re-assess my use of time and do as I know I ought to.... go away and pray.

For the digital items I used - they came from a kit called "Gleeful" by Amanda McGee with some style ( Epoxy by Mandy Steward) added to the centre of the flowers to make it look like I put some glossy accents there ( if it were a real paper layout ).

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #8 - Hymn

This is my art for this fortnight's Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - Triple the Scraps.
Once I read the word for our challenge I thought of the scripture to use.
I do love to sing even though I am not a good singer. Often when I come home from Church a Hymn or Scriptural song we have song will be on my mind.
I enjoy playing scriptural songs in my home when I do the housework or do some scrapbooking or cardmaking or on the computer with my digital scrapbooking.

The credits for the digital products I have used are as follows:
Music background paper from a kit callled Frippery by Amanda Sok; Music Note by Rachael Scraps; Hearts and Pink patterned paper from Pretty Music by Maelia Designs

Change in my Header and colours of this Blog

Today I decided it was time for a change. The header was not quite true before this new one as I had that it was mostly Scripture Challenges from Faith Sisters that I was doing. I am not visiting their forum so much these days.
I am only doing the Scripture Challenges with Patter Cross ( Triple the Scraps ).

The two papers I used on the header are from a kit called Sweetness by Donna Duncombe Designs. The template for the header is by Erica Hite (Scrap Girls).

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #7 - Perfect

For this fortnight's challenge I found this verse in Hebrews 12:2 which I felt would be a good one to have on display in my home for the different friends and family who will be visiting us over this coming weekend.

I have placed the heart within the crown of thorns because of the love Jesus displayed as he suffered for my and your sins.

This little digital page was put together using a kit called "Coffee Time" by Digi Illusions.
The crown of thorns is a brush I found free on the web somewhere (I do not have the name of the designer)

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #6 - Neighbour

Yesterday morning I was outside talking to my neighbour who mostly keeps to herself. She is a single mother with two young boys and yesterday's conversation was the longest one I have ever had with her in the year they have lived there. When I came inside I checked my emails only to discover Patter's Scripture Challenge for this fortnight --- WOW - what is the Lord trying to tell me. I think I better become a better neighbour as the word for this fornight is "Neighbour".

The last two Sundays my husband and I have been attending talks by John MacKay of Creation Research and the first Sunday I learnt how the different races came about which may help you see the reason I chose to do my page as I have.
Acts 17:26 says "And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed and the bounds of their habitation."

My digital page was put together using the following items: Alpha and brushed border by Durin Eberhart; Green paper by Brandy Murry; Brown Paper by Paula Wright; Frame by Amanda McGee; Pearl Heart and Bracket by Amanda Sok; Fancy brad by Kerry Veale.
The photograph was found on the web somewhere.

Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross - #5 - FOLLOW

For this fortnight Patter has given us the word "Follow" for our challenge.
Once I read the word and Patter's devotional thoughts an old hymn with the Chorus that I have shared on my art came into my mind. I am not a musical person but do love to sing and the words from the hymns and scripture songs are good to have in our minds to remind us of Bible truths.

My Bible verse choice is because my Ken is about to retire ( 4 weeks to go ) and I will follow in July so we can use our newly purchased caravan to go out and become "Fishers of Men" - by travelling for pleasure and being a witness where we are and also travelling to help in outback Churches or Missions.

I have added a blended photo our granddaughter, Imogen when she was littler, reaching up for her Poppa's hand as it makes me think of how we need to reach out and hold onto Jesus to follow His leading.

The digital kit I used is called "Beach Bungalow" by Deanna Patterson.

Scripture Challenge hosted by Patter Cross - #4 - HOME

This is my digital Art for this fortnight's Scripture Challenge with Patter Cross.

My Bible verse comes from The Message which is a Bible I do not use much at all but I do like the way this is worded as it is so true.
Then I did a google search on Christian Quotes using the word HOME and came up with this one by Augustine which is one I have never come across before but is such a good one.

The digital kit I used for my art is called "Home" and is by Just Passin Thru and worked so well with my art for this challenge.
I am on the Creative Team for Just Passin Thru - Nikki Chamberlain and it was so nice to be able to use one of Nikki's older kits for my art today.
She is selling her designs exclusively now at Nuts 4 Digi.

Scripture Challenge hosted by Patter Cross - # 3 - ABIDE

When I read Patters devotion for this challenge the song that came to my mind is the old Hymn Trust and Obey which I have shared on my art the first verse which had the word "abide" in it.

I asked my husband, Ken what colour would I do this art in and he said "blue" so I looked for a nice kit which had blue in it and chose a recent one I purchased ( actually last month's Scrap Girls Club Kit ).
Credits: Papers and flower from WatercolourWhimsy by Amanda Sok; Bible from Faithful by Mandy Steward; Stitching from JakeEmma by Amanda McGee
Fonts - Vrinda, Susie's Hand and forgot to take note of the font I used for Abide.

Scripture Challenge hosted by Patter Cross - #2 for this year - TEMPTATION

For this fortnight Patter has given us the word "Temptation".
I found an interesting scripture that I had not really come across before which I used on my piece of digital art.

The little prayer came from a devotional book by Billy Graham.

I added the apple because of Adam and Eve's Temptation even though the Bible does not say it was an apple but artists usually depict the fruit that Satan used to trick mankind with, as an apple.
The little word tags were in the kit and I felt related to areas where I personally am tempted.

For credits of what I used on this page:
Kit used was "Fruit of the Spirit" by the designers at Life-Scrappers.

Display for Scripture Challenge Art

My artwork ( totally digital ) will be displayed in a CD case and the Angel my husband, Ken gave me for Christmas will help make it stand up more upright.

The other day I discovered that the Bible Verse I used on this was the verse I used in my 2009 Christmas letter to family and friends. I did not realise that when I was putting this page together. So I believe the Lord is telling me this is my verse for this year. I know I am not doing very well at fulfilling the last part... Faithful in Prayer as I need to spend more time alone with the Lord.

Scripture Challenge hosted by Patter Cross

Here is my first Scripture Challenge for this year. Patter gave us the word " Hope " to work with.
The bible verse I have chosen is one that I feel applies to what my husband, Ken and I have been going through these last few months. ( We have been going through some afflictions)
Also I have shared the first part of a song we sing at our Church at times. These words came into my mind when I read the word for this challenge.
